T Thomas Koeppen was born in Berlin in 1976. He studied law and sports sciences in Berlin and Lausanne. During his training, he spent several years abroad, working for the United Nations in Geneva and for renowned commercial law firms in Paris and New York..
Thomas focused on employment law while obtaining his master's degree at the University of Edinburgh. His research on digital workplace surveillance led him to employment law.
As it became clear to him that digitization would permanently change the character of the world of work, he made it the focus of his research and later work.
Thomas Koeppen received his doctorate from Humboldt-University in Berlin, writing his dissertation on the topic "Legal Limits on Workplace Control of Email and Internet Use in Germany, Great Britain and the USA."
Thomas Koeppen was admitted to the bar in 2005 and focuses on rendering employment law advice. From 2006 to 2008 he worked for the international law firm Noerr LLP. He subsequently became a partner at the Frankfurt boutique employment law firm Pflüger Rechtsanwälte GmbH.
It quickly became clear to Thomas that he wanted to pursue his own path with his particular specialties and entrepreneurial approaches. In 2014 he founded the labor law firm KPN legal with offices in Frankfurt am Main and Berlin.
Thomas is a highly sought-after expert for complex employment law issues, increasingly commonplace due to the rapid changes in the work environment resulting from the digital revolution.
Thomas Koeppen advises and trains in both German and English.
